Examining the Scriptures one Passage at a time.
Hebrews 10:23
Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)
The King James translation “faith” of Hebrews 10:23 is a doctrinally precise, divinely preserved rendering of God’s word that perfectly aligns with the scriptural chain of faith in the chapter. If “10:23” were changed to “hope,” the doctrinal chain would be broken. The KJV maintains a perfect thread: we have faith, we say faith, we live by faith, and then God defines faith. Inserting “hope” into the middle of this “Faith Discourse” introduces a category error, confusing the goal (hope) with the mechanism (faith).
Bible Note:
Hebrews 10:23 “Faith” Vindicated
KJV “Faith” = Doctrinal Consistency (vss 22, 23, 38; 11:1)
Therefore, the Divinely Preserved word
Because Alteration to “Hope” = Category Error
